Freshly Made Sketches #137

Hi Everybody! I made todays card because: 1. I have 15 cards to make for next month for birthdays, Father's Day, Graduation and of course my husband and I, our anniversary! 2. For the Freshly Made Sketches challenge # 137.  Love this sketch, it was simple and quick. But of course I had to make it harder by trying to paper pierce the edges of the cardstock lol. For an anniversary, hearts and classic red and black are just right. I embossed the sentiment which is from Paper Smooches onto the black cardstock, which is from Stampin' Up with white embossing powder, makes it look classy. The hearts were simple to create from SU Real red cardstock and heart punches. Well I got 1 card out of the way! On to the next lol. Enjoy your day!

The Turned Up Gift Set Swap

Well I have a new post for you today lol! I recently signed up for The Turned Up Gift Set Swap on Youtube hosted by Tmika. I had a great time being creative, trying new techniques and making new items. It started my creative juices to flowing once again. I used a canning jar die from Top Dog Dies for my base and the paper that I covered the chipboard base out of is from the DCWV paper stack Tradewinds. I made the tops on my jar from some textured metallic paper by American Crafts. We had to make a handmade fabric flower, 2 matching embellishments and a tag that has been stamped, has trim and some type of dangle hanging from it and wrapped with three 24" pieces of lace.  This swap had me trying something different and coming out of my comfort zone. I was in a Vintage group and as you can see I used a lot of cream and white, which I think makes things look elegant. Here are my swaps.......

As you can see I even made hand stamped and made muslin bags to place them in! Thank you for visiting me today.

Pals January 2014 Blog Hop

Welcome to our first blog hop of 2014. This month we are excited to show you the new products available in the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog as well as a preview of the free products you can earn through Sale-a-bration at the end of January.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Rae Harper-Burnett's blog http://www.wildwestpapercrafts on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

My project today is a simple, but colorful and hip thank you card and a matching envelope!

I feel a little silly that I have never used washi tape on any of my cards. This stuff is so awesome! I love that SU has it to coordinate with the decorative paper and well just about everything else. This was a fun card to make and I love how simple and easy it was to putting together the envelope, using the envelope punch board. I also have to give credit to my Stamp-a-ma-jig, it helped me to line up the word thanks easy peasy!

Here is a list of the products that I used:
Tools: Envelope punch board, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Clear C block and the On Film Framelits dies
Stamp set: Hip Notes
Cardstocks and Inks: Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar, Tangerine Tango, Coastal Cabana, and So Saffron
Dimensionals and tombow glue

The next stop is Sharon Jaramillo at http://www.easypeasycards on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and  I hope to see you next month!
